Crypto is high risk
Cryptocurrency prices are volatile and you can lose the entire value of a position. These assets are largely unregulated in most jurisdictions, and there is generally no deposit protection scheme standing behind an exchange or a wallet provider. Assets held on an exchange are a claim on a company rather than assets in your possession — a distinction that has mattered enormously to a lot of people.
Mining carries its own risks
Mining profitability depends on coin price, network difficulty, block reward and electricity cost. All four change continuously and none of them are under your control.
Our calculator holds every input constant, which makes its output a snapshot of present conditions rather than a forecast. Network difficulty has trended upward across almost every multi-year window, which means your share of rewards shrinks over time even if your machine never slows down — so a break-even estimate should be read as a best case, not an expectation. Block rewards halve on a fixed schedule, cutting revenue overnight while your power bill does not move. Hardware loses value quickly and can become unprofitable to run well before it fails.
Our tools are estimates
All ten calculators rely on third-party market data and on inputs you supply. They do not model tax, hardware failure, cooling, pool downtime, resale value or changes in your electricity tariff. Treat their output as arithmetic on your assumptions, not as a projection of what will happen.
Market data
Prices on this site come from third-party providers and are cached for up to five minutes. They are indicative mid-market figures, not quotes, and what you actually pay on an exchange will differ once spread, fees and slippage apply. Data can be delayed or wrong. Verify anything you intend to act on.
Accuracy and corrections
We check what we publish and we correct errors in place with a dated note. We cannot guarantee that everything here is complete or current, particularly where regulation is changing. Where we are uncertain, we say so rather than writing around it.
