Why fees matter more than people expect
Fees are charged twice — once going in, once coming out — and on a round trip at a typical exchange rate of 0.1% per side you are down 0.2% before the price has moved at all. On a market-taker tier closer to 0.5% per side, you need a 1% move just to break even. This calculator applies both legs so the profit figure is the one that actually lands in your account.
The break-even price
The last row is the one worth writing down: the sell price at which you get your money back, fees included. It is always above your buy price, and the gap widens with your fee tier. If you are trading frequently on a high-fee tier, that gap is doing more to your returns than your timing is.
